Free, honest, and we'll tell you plainly if the other bid is fair.
If you already have a quote from another roofer, the hardest part is not getting a second number. It's knowing whether the first one was fair. Two bids that are three thousand dollars apart tell you nothing on their own, because you don't know what's inside either number.
Send us the quote and we'll go through it against real supplier pricing, line by line, and tell you plainly where it stands. If it's a fair bid, we'll say so. Comparing bids costs us nothing and it's the fastest way for you to find out whether you need to keep shopping.
What we check it against
- Squares and waste. Is the roof measured correctly, and is the waste percentage reasonable for the roof's complexity or padded
- Underlayment and ice & water shield. Synthetic felt versus the cheaper alternative, and whether valleys and penetrations actually get ice and water coverage
- Flashing. Whether new step and counter flashing is priced in, or whether the quote is quietly reusing what's already on the roof
- Ventilation. Ridge vent and soffit intake, and whether they're balanced or just one side of the system was quoted
- Decking allowance. How rotten decking gets priced if it's found, and whether that number is written down anywhere or left as a surprise
- Disposal and permit. Whether they're itemized at a real cost or folded into the total where you can't check them
- The fee or markup. What percentage of the job the contractor is actually keeping, if the quote tells you at all
What you get back
A plain answer, in writing: where the other quote looks fair, where it looks thin, and where it looks padded. If we think you should take their number, we will tell you that directly. If we think a line is missing or priced to hide something, we will show you why, with real material and labor numbers behind it rather than just our own competing bid.

A note on privacy
The quote you send us is used only to compare it against your job. We don't share it with the company that wrote it and we don't use it to solicit anyone else. If you'd rather we not keep it on file once the comparison is done, tell us and we will delete it.
Common Questions
Do I have to use Simple Roofing Co if I send you my quote?
No. There's no obligation attached to the comparison. Some homeowners end up keeping their original quote after we check it, and we'll tell you if that's the honest answer.
What if my quote doesn't itemize anything, it's just one number?
That's common, and it's itself worth knowing. We can still tell you whether the total is in a reasonable range for a roof your size, even without the line items, though a lump sum quote is harder to check than an itemized one.
Can you beat the other company's price?
We'll quote your job Cost Plus, which means you see the real supplier invoice and one stated fee. Sometimes that's lower, sometimes the other bid was genuinely fair. We'd rather tell you which than just promise to beat a number.
How do I send you the actual quote document?
